I actually had a quite marvelous Christmas until the last hour or so! Long story (which I hope to relate soon) short, after coming home from a very full day at the movies, I bumped into a mug of cold tea I still don't remember leaving there and spilled some on my laptop, which sort of sighed wearily and shut down on its own. I'm furious because I have killed laptops in this manner before and because of course, nothing is ever backed up, because I've never needed an external hard drive. I don't know how long to wait until I try and turn it on; my last one limped along for a year after a much worse accident. I'm still furious and ashamed, though. Here's hoping it wasn't as bad as it looked, because updating, not to mention reading, on your phone is a terrible, terrible substitute.
