Deceptively productive. In a good way!

Shit got done today. I'm quite pleased! Just now I updated my icons some in order to properly post this post. So there's this consignment shop near my apartment. (There's also an AMAZING coffee shop that somehow I hadn't been in yet. There were no seats, alas! Next time.) Anyway. Consignment shop. The great thing about consignment shops, apparently, is that they have vintage clothes in my size. This is ASTOUNDING. Apparently no one was 5'10" ever in the history of clothing until five years ago. ANYWAY. I bought the most ridiculous, amazing skirt.

I can't entirely tell what the origin of the material is, but it's most certainly old Army issue wool pants. (Er, maybe Australian, from the looks of it? Would "N.S.W." be something other than New South Wales?) This is from the inside of the waistband:

(Apologies for dark photos; my Photoshop is in a state of revolt and won't actually load photos to edit unless coaxed, and even then it's no guarantee that it won't freeze up and quit.)

IT LOOKS LIKE THIS.

I am thinking of making this my new Facebook picture:

I am stupid pleased. I mean, it's ridiculous! But in such a funky, unique way, I couldn't in good conscience say no.

Then! I drew things! And I have not done things like inked or tried things with shadows and detail in FOREVER AND A DAY, and I am blown away by how AWESOME these came out!

Rock and roll! This is to make up for the fact that I have 12- to 14-hour days until Thursday now. I'm pleased! And excited!

And now tea, I think. And to decide whether I want to rewatch Eternal Sunshine for the first time in forever. Mmm, weekends. If you lasted forever, you would be unemployment (as I well know), but you are pretty great while you're around.
