Tomorrow the Senate is going to vote on Don't Ask, Don't Tell. There currently aren't enough guaranteed votes to override a filibuster, let alone pass it.
Stop what you're doing.
Read this call to action. We don't have to let that happen.
I just called both my senators in Ohio and told them that I am a constituent and I want gays and lesbians to serve openly and honorably in the military. Sen. Voinovich (R) hasn't spoken up one way or another yet; Sen. Brown (D) is already supporting a repeal, so I told his phone rep that I'm a voter and I applaud his choice.
This was the first time I've ever called an elected official's office to speak out on an issue. It was incredibly easy and low-stress. It only took a few moments, and it will affect what happens tomorrow on the floor. This is what we signed up for when we elected them, guys. Make the national conversation.
If you don't know how to get in touch with your Congresspeople, look them up in the
U.S. House of Representatives and the
U.S. Senate using the search function at the top of each page.
Make phone calls.

Any law that enforces inequality in the United States is both wrong and illegal. Let's put a stop to this fuckery.
