OMG.
we live in a nice, wealthy area (we rent and found this house by luck, it's cheap, especially for this area). generally where crime doesn't happen all that often.
now i'll say this straight away: this is totally dave's fault for leaving the car unlocked BUT...
our bedroom looks out on the road, where the car is parked. the driver door has a very very squeaky hinge. i was just getting ready for bed when i heard the hinge go. i thought it was probably dave going out to the car but i hadn't heard the front door go so i opened the curtains and looked out.
there was a guy with a baseball cap on getting into the car! like i say dave left it unlocked so it IS dave's fault but really! the guy heard our curtains open (we have a windchime and a glass lantern hanging from the pole so it all jangles when you open/shut them), took one look at me and legged it down the road.
honestly, cheeky bastard. i know the door was unlocked but srsly that's no excuse for then getting inside it!
