Fun. :) I enjoyed the premeditation and Laura's private acknowledgement of what had existed between them, all along. With so few supplies left on the life raft that is the fleet, I liked the sense of resourcefulness amidst the sparseness. The timing makes sense as well. After all, she wasn't counting on this additional time. She's now living beyond the bounds of the prophecy, so why not continue the irreverence. ;)
I'm gonna go read singerdiva01-sk's followup, which is how I found my way into your archives just now. I hope Laura's visit goes according to plan. :)
It was such a nice surprise to see your comment. This was a fun fic to write. I was just thinking this morning how my Laura was a much lighter Laura than she is in my more current projects. My writing was lighter too. So it's neat to see the shifts over time.
Glad you enjoyed it. I do like exploring those first weeks after "Epiphanies" when Billy is still alive and the election hasn't started. She's still serious and the President, but there's also this feeling of "second chances" that she might have embraced. I do wonder how she reconciled that with the prophecy, though. It's not really shown in the series, and I'm not sure I've ever explored it.
