True to her word, Candice arrives back at the castle with dinner and a hopeful mindset for the evening. She can tell Martel's not feeling his best, and they've started to ruminate (slowly, and painstakingly) on the hows and whys of his mood, but real discussion can ideally wait until tomorrow. She promised him a night free of any life-altering decisions or important conversations, and that is what she's going to give him.
She warns Eirene they'll be taking dinner in the sitting room in the suite, and retires there, kicking her boots off at the door. Waiting for Martel on the sofa seems like an okay plan to her, as long as she doesn't have to move very much for the duration.
