Hey!
To end the week, I will dedicate this entry to a band that needs no introduction. They are pretty much the band of all bands, the alpha and omega.
Friday's Favorite: Abbey Road by The Beatles
Is it possible to have a childhood memory without it involving these guys? Hard to imagine. I think I liked this album the most though because it was the one my parents played the least of. We mostly listened to their early work, everything Revolver and prior. So whenever they played this album, it was always a treat since I kinda liked the feel of this album. There didn't seem to be tension in the songs, and as always, there was a hope hidden in each lyric that made the world seem less of a scary place.
My favorite song has to be Because. I have always enjoyed harmonies, some of my current favorite artists are full of them, but I think only two bands ever have really made me swoon, The Beatles and The Beach Boys. This song has always seemed like the latter, but with the wonderful lyrics and the sound of George Harrison, my favorite Beatle, it's hard not to fall in love with them all over again. My other favorite has to be The Medley, simply for the line that is almost too perfect. And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make. I've been given so much love from this band in the past and I can only hope that the love I've given them in return is just as much.
Choice Tracks: Because, Come Together, and The Medley
