Alright, so today is Thursday, so for our Throwback Thursday entry, I have chosen the lovely Carole King.
Tapestry is probably my favorite album by her. It's the more obvious choice, but I can't seem to find a better collection of easy listening than this album. I love the singer/songwriter genre of the 1970s. From Cat Stevens to America, I love them all. And King for me always resonated with me with her gentle voice, her quiet longing and her ability to take the simpliest lyrics and make them sound even more universal.
My favorites are a toss up between It's Too Late and Will You Love Me Tomorrow? I think the latter has been played a fair amount of time in recent months, applying to a sort of theme in my life for a while. One of my favorite lyrics: Can I believe the magic in your sights... I'm still trying everyday to get over him, and it takes that much to do it, but I can always rely on music to get me through it, having gotten me through some much in the past. It's songs like this, timeless, that brings me back to this album constantly.
Choice Tracks: It's Too Late, Will You Love Me Tomorrow?, and Beautiful
Look out tomorrow for Friday's Favorites!!!
