Today was a mess, well yesterday, but I work nights.
I have worked at my work for over 5 years. In that time, I have NEVER really had any sort of verbal, written or any other issues. That being said, today, I got a verbal warning (aka first strike). It was for an email that I answered in October. To explain why, I first have to explain how the general call floor works. We have technical support staff, when they get calls they try to help people and then send a survey. My department is a little different but that has no baring on the story. So we get this email, in October that says "I don't want any more surveys.". So I wrote back that they "can setup a message rule in their email program, or not call in.". That was meant to be taken as well you can email, etc instead. So anyways, our daytime Lead Supervisor some how comes across this 3 month old email, and decides that is a Policy Violation. So he gives it to my Sup, and he gives it to me. I sign it basically because I know it wont help to do anything else. Then I talked to the night shift Lead Sup. Basically I am Night Shift, so I don't want to work with Day Shift on the issue. So I made an official request to get off my team and on to the Night Shift Sup's team so I don't have to deal with the Day Shift people at all. I sent that after my Sup had gone home, so we will see tomorrow how he reacts to it. I said I need to be out of contact with the Day Shift Lead Sup or I will quit, end of story.
