A million years ago, when I (sort of) finished Harry's room at #4 Privet Drive, I promised that when the final touches were added, I would post more pictures. Well, it's been an entire year and a half, and I'm finally getting around to posting them! My apologies, y'all. I'm very lame. ( Come on in and see the pictures! )

Wow, it all looks so great! I love the orrery, and also the little trunk next to his desk with bottles in it, and the scales on top of his wardrobe. And the cricket bat! I've seen a couple of cricket bats online and wanted them, but I have no place to put them. I might have to just end up getting one anyway.

Wonderful!

Oh and the shoes, forgot to mention them! Did you make them? They're adorable.

No, I bought the shoes. I think they're made out of cork or something (the wingtips, I mean) -- very light. So cute and teeny!

Cork! The black ones? They look so real!

Don't they? I expected them to be either flimsy little leather bits or, like the white sneakers, painted metal. But yeah, I think they're cork, painted, with tiny-tiny-tiny little laces in there. I'm always amazed at how miniaturists take a totally unexpected material and make it look perfect as something completely different.

Thank you, dear! The orrery I'm kind of foolishly proud of, even though all I did was stick it together according to Ericka's picture, lol. I love all the tiny metal tracery and all... so graceful. And the tiny gears from a pocket watch!
As soon as I saw the cricket bat I had fits. I knew my version of Harry was going to play cricket, just because the bat was so adorable. Do take a look at Chris Sturgess-Lief's site; he makes the most beautiful and original things, especially old-fashioned toys. And his prices are... about 1/3 of what they should be. Awesome.
