Okay, I have a bone to pick with some of these commercials on t.v. right now.
K, there's Target with "Hello Goodbye" by The Beatles...where their slogan is Hello Goodbuy...Uhhh that song is not about going out and buying shit at Target..(by far the most annoying of all of them)
second, there's "I get by with a Little Help From My Friends" ANOTHER Beatles song appearing on a bank...or financial adviser commercial of some sort....yeah...song is not about that....again
Today I saw a General Electric commercial promoting "nature's rain" I'unno I was just too flustered with what song they were using....what do they use for their song, CCR's "Have You Ever Seen Rain?"
I saw a Chase commercial using "All You Need Is Love" yet ANOTHER Beatles song. Granted I don't care much for that song in the first place. Seeing all these songs on commercials ticks me off. Their exposing the song in the wrong form. First off, they're not even the original artist singing the song. It could have a plus, introducing these songs to a new generation, great, but its in the wrong context, if you want to get some good exposure go listen to 104.3, or 94.7 on the radio, or the equivalent to that. Another reason why some of this pisses me off, is the fact that Michael Jackson owns the rights to the Beatles songs, so that son of a bitch is cashing in on these commercials.
But whatever its just what I'm thinking. I got all upset over Across the Universe and I Am Sam too, I refuse to see them...cause they look uhhh....dumb---directors are running out of ideas if you ask me.
But that was my happy rant for today
GOO WINGS!!
(Welcome back McCarty!!!---and hopefully the Grind Line!!!)
