The other day I had this story roaming around in my head, and since I'm more inclined to tell my stories in pictures than in words, I opened Photoshop and let it unroll.

For me, it was about sacrifice and its dark beauty, and loss too. I wanted words to complete the collage, but as I said, I'm not very good with those, so I emailed oxoniensisI sent her the ( Read more... )

Firstly, that is really beautiful. The words and images, the blue-black-dark... gorgeous. The vivid colours are stunning. I love the constraint of the words, too. Poetic, the wealth of meaning in such brevity.

Secondly, I love this idea for artword. I always feel, when I work with meivocis, that she is stuck trying to put images to the words I come up with. I think it would be wonderful if she got a chance to let her imagination roam and I had to follow her lead.

Thank you hon... and I think it will be the next challenge. I know what you mean about the artist being stuck with the words. It'd be a nice change to do this the other way around. I'll reopen the community when I come back from Normandy.

This is really beautiful. The colours feel really so saturated and dark (well, they're dark colours, but you know?), it does go with the words so well.

The layout too is really great, it just. Gives you a sense of the rhythm of the words - and just.

This is great (:

That's an incredible piece of artwork. *STARES* It's so beautiful. The words are PERFECT, perfect in every way. The colors, the look on Rodney's face, the shadows of Atlantis, Sheppard's face... it is really, truly amazing.

Standing Ovation.
