cults and scams...anyone heard of Landmark?

I have a friend hounding me about this.
An internet search quickly turned up discussions of scams and cults. And one of the big things about this organisation is the suggestion that you recruit all your friends so "that they too might benefit".
Anyone here have any experience in any capacity, including being contacted by friends?
