[Spotting the dragon-like creature about to attack, Merlin runs and puts himself in front of the boy, staring at the dragon fiercely]

[well it... definitely stops Dartanian in his tracks, though it's not necessarily a result of being commanded. he's completely thrown off guard, and just stares at Merlin, flabbergasted.]

[there are wisps of smoke and fire drifting from his nostrils as Dartanian glares at Merlin-- the fire's practically in his eyes, too. Merlin has about five seconds before he snaps at him.]

What's wrong? [He keeps his voice as non-threatening as possible]

[if Merlin is able to understand that threatening grunt, then what's wrong with Dartanian is obvious. he doesn't like his new shrimpy red Trainer, and will go to great lengths to fry him to a crisp.]

Listen, you can't go around attacking people. You're obviously upset, but that's no excuse for your behavior. Your trainer must have taught you better than that.

[He holds his breath, hoping these pokemon creatures are as intelligent as France had made them out to be. Risking a glance back, he reaches over and squeezes the boy's shoulder. ] Are you hurt?

[Keeping a wary eye on the Charizard, Merlin starts backing up, pulling the boy with him]

[he stumbles a little at Merlin's tugging, then glances at his pokégear-- it's on the ground right at Dartanian's feet. ... oh boy.]

There you go. We can retrieve yours after we deal with...this. [Here, he looks at the Charizard uneasily]

[well, he'll go ahead and point Merlin's dex at Dartanian-- watch him recoil in horror when he sees the trainer name.]

The trainer is Sora?! But how did I--

We'll just have to find--wait. [The rest of his brain catches up] Are you Sora?

[One look at Sora's horrified face and he changes gears. Unhappy pokemon with a trainer who did not even know the pokemon was his...shite.] Right. Let's just find the pokeball. Now.

[oh man, has Sora been battling Pokémon in his sleep or something? shoot, because Rise promised to only stop him from sleep eating, not sleep battling. though he doesn't realize that Dartanian coming into his possession wasn't his doing-- he pulls out an empty pokéball and recalls the angry dragon before it can try a Flamethrower.]
