[a certain kid on the network this evening has, having stayed mostly quiet except to catch up with friends after that train disaster, finally decided to pipe up-- to ask something those who know him probably... would not expect for him to ask.]

[there is a good reason for it, though.]I know that the point of traveling around this world is to work ( Read more... )

I do miss it sometimes. Not necessarily the lessons, but being in a place with all my friends nearby.

Although now that I think of it, I miss the lessons, too. I shudder to think how poorly I'd do on a test after being here so long.

I don't even remember what the last thing I took a test on was. [it was probably a math or history test of some sort. he probably squeaked by on an average grade, too-- not out of being stupid, but homework and studying tended to fall below spending time with his friends on Sora's list of priorities.]

But I bet it'd all come back to us if we ever went home and back to school. You don't forget that kind of stuff that easily, right?

I don't know about that. I think it's easy to forget things that you aren't using. Actually, a friend and I were talking about finding some people who could tutor us.

[Well, Yukimura was talking about it. His friend wasn't so enthusiastic.]

I can help you look for people if you want! What sort of subjects were you interested in?

Just the normal ones, really - math, science, English... ah, I suppose social studies would be no good, since everyone comes from different worlds here. And since we all speak the same language, studying foreign ones like English might be difficult.

If we really wanted to, we could find someone to teach us the history of this world! It might be useful to know more about everything when we travel.

[it's... not even close to Sora's first choice in desired activity, but by this point he'll try anything to hang on to his memories-- not that he'd be able to tell when he loses them.]]

And I bet if enough people were interested, we could put together a real school.

That's true - it could be really interesting, and certainly useful. I wonder if we could find someone who studies Pokemon biology as well?

[Yukimura's not the most devoted student in the world, but after nine months without school, he's starting to miss it.]

Do you think we could get enough people for that?

... I'd actually be really interested in Pokémon biology. Y'think Nurse Joy would be a good choice? [Sora always wanted a better answer to why all pokémon hatch from eggs other than "that's just the way it is."]

And if we put our heads together, we probably could find plenty of people-- even if we just hold classes over the 'gears at first or something.

She'd probably be the best choice, if only there were some way to convince her to come teach us. I'm not sure she'd be agreeable, though.

And that's a good point. If we made sure people could attend no matter where they were, I'm sure we'd have a lot more interested folks.

There are... how many Nurse Joys here again? At least we've got plenty to ask.

What's your name, by the way? Mine's Sora.

It's a little creepy, really. So many identical women with the exact same job. Still, I guess that means we'll have more chance of finding one who'll agree.

My name is Yukimura. Nice to meet you, Sora.

Nice to meet you too, Yukimura!

I dunno, I always figured they came from a really big family or something. Doesn't explain why they all have the same first name, though.

Really? I kind of always thought they were clones or something like that. But I don't know if this world has that kind of technology.

If that's true, then I wonder which one's the real Joy.
