[a certain kid on the network this evening has, having stayed mostly quiet except to catch up with friends after that train disaster, finally decided to pipe up-- to ask something those who know him probably... would not expect for him to ask.]

[there is a good reason for it, though.]I know that the point of traveling around this world is to work ( Read more... )

[School? Why would he miss going to that stupid place? Okay, so he's school is different than most schools and some people there think that it's an amazing place full of superpowers, but... No. Just no.]

Hell no. That place was the worst.

... It couldn't have been that bad, right?

You wouldn't believe me if I told you that it was much worse than your worst nightmares can be.

[that just piques Sora's curiosity-- even if he's not interested in looking for nightmares this evening.]

Really? I have a pretty vivid imagination.

Really, that stupid place is beyond imagination and it's more like a prison than school anyway.

I kinda felt that way about school sometimes too, but... I wouldn't really have called it nightmarish back home. At least my friends were there with me.

Never had those, except one but he's here too and everyone else were just a bunch of idiots, so I don't even care what happens to them. [Lies, they're his friends and he cares. He's just not going to admit anything and yes, he's actually amazing at hiding every lie...] And it didn't only feel like a prison, it really was like one. No students are allowed to contact anyone outside the school or even step an inch outside the school area... And they keep us there until we're 18 or more, I was forced to go there at the age of 8.

[And let's not talk about a person who can kill with his touch. Guess who happens to be his favorite student? Yep, this boy. But at least it's always "fun" to dis that school.]

[boy, and Sora thought having to stay after school to do extra work was confining.]

What kind of school is that supposed to be? What did they even teach there if they force their students to go? That isn't right.

I told you it's just like a prison. And they teach all the normal stuff - math, biology, Japanese and so on.

[...and this is where it doesn't make any sense, right? just because he leaves out the fact that they also have special skills.]

And they have to lock you up just for that?

No. But if I tell you the real reason, I will have to kill you.

[...Said in a serious tone like he actually means it. But hey, Natsume is not a killer, so he wouldn't do it.]

... Uh. I'll just take your word for it, then.

[this brief pause, it is ten thousand layers of awkward.]

I understand why you wouldn't want to go back, though. At least you kind of have your own freedom here.
