a quick, pointless, and irrelevant story...
So I'm at lunch with my sister, brother-in-law, and nephews today, and the topic of high school basketball comes up. I said something to the effect of, "I'm glad Central (arch rival) got beat first round!" and my bro-in-law commented.
Keep in mind that my sister and brother-in-law both graduated from Bowling Green.
bro: "You mean you weren't pulling for the hometown team?"
me: "Yeah right. Not if it's Central. I can't stand them."
bro: (laughs) "Don't worry, that never goes away..."
and for some reason, that was comforting. I guess just the reassurance that not everything is lost in the transition from high school to college, even though it sometimes seems that way.
