dental dams and vicodin

If you follow my myspace bulletins at all you may have noticed last week a bulletin asking for nice comments because I had just had an emergency root canal. Most of you didn't notice it but what the heck....

Today however I went back for a more routine visit. I say routine because it was scheduled, not because it was easy and routine. You see those who know me may not say anything but I don't have perfect dental health and I needed work. However, due to experiences at a younger age I had a fear of the dentist that was until I had my emergency root canal and discovered a great doctor (britt you'll like him he's named wood) and he did such a great job I decided to keep going.

So today, I sat in the dentists chair for roughly three solid hours. Never have I used up so much energy sitting almost perfectly still. I had a root canal on the tooth next to the previous one, then had both teeth prepped for the eventual crown that will come at my next appointment. I also had a cracked tooth extracted and a couple of fillings done. And for my trouble I got about four separate shots of novocaine spread out over the few hours.

I'm not asking for any sympathy as I did it to myself and truth be told I feel wonderful, and no it's not the effect of the drugs. You see as I write this I am at work doing homework and helping students do theres because I feel so good. Last week I missed two days of work because of the pain, I guess that pain was simply from the infection rather than the work being done on me.

Anyways I gotta get back to work, have a good night kids.

pain, links, rants, me
