we stayed in the Residence Inn on Light St, it was SOOO nice! we had a suite with an entire mini kitchen. full-size fridge, dishwasher, UTENSILS, wtf. breakfast was extensive and free. internet kind of sucked, but whatever. we were right next to a Dunkin Donuts and a CVS & across the street from a 7-11, and a block in the other direction was a McDonald's and a Wachovia (my bank). I roomed with Gi, her cousins Jason and Kevin, and her Warcraft friend Jack (and Maggie too sort of, she hung out with us and changed in our room but just slept on the tenth floor). everyone was awesome.
Friday i wore Nel (Bleach) and Gi wore her new Saya (Blood+) costume, which was SEXY, and Maggie wore casual Android 18 (Dragonball Z), also sexy, b/c it's Maggie. <3

we were all starving so we went to McDonald's, where we had the LONGEST WAIT EVER for two friggin 4 pieces and some fries. geez! (but we were order "420," which is almost as good as being order "69!" we're very grown-up.) i didnt want McDonald's so i went to Dunkin Donuts, and Maggie took a NINJA SHOT of me eating my bagel!!!

we met up with Greg, who was dressed as Haji from Blood+

the guy asked me why i wasn't getting my picture taken too. i told him i didnt have any money, and i also got pics at AnimeNEXT of the costume i was wearing. he told me i should get pics taken anyway b/c the photo suite pics are the ones they use for the program for 2009. we did photos last year, and i was like, "i bet Gi is in the program right now" (she was Edea at Otakon last year, only the coolest costume ever). so im flipping thru, and FUCK, guess who is on the weapons policy page!?! ME! in my Leaf costume!!!! holy shit!

this guy was super in-character, and he recited the entire part about "how he got these scars" that the Joker tells Rachel at Harvey's party. Gi, who hadn't seen the movie yet, was like, as she walks away thinking he's insane, "oh, wow. that must have sucked for you. *raises eyebrows*" lol it was GREAT.
we went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch, where we got some of the shittiest service EVER (only to be outdone by the Hard Rock Cafe the following day). i'm convinced it was because we were in costume, esp after we heard our waitress make a comment to another table to "enjoy the show *snicker*" My thing is, in a restaurant, idc if you have four arms, you are a CUSTOMER. as long as we are not disturbing anyone or being exceptionally rude or doing something else to warrant us not being there, you should treat us like people with money in their wallets. first we werent called for our table, so i went up to the host stand b/c it was longer than they'd quoted us. they told me they called "Lauren, party of three." and i said, "well, i did not come b/c we are 'Laurie, party of two.'" (not to mention our vibrating thingy never went off) so she snatched my vibrating thingy and was like, "step to the side and wait for a hostess." and i started walking back to get Gi, who was at the bar soaking up gin like a sponge (hehe), and the girl is like, "STEP to the side and wait for a hostess." and im like, "I AM GETTING MY FRIEND." ugh.

then our waitress ignored us forever, forgot to bring us utensils twice, all the while providing amazing service to the tables around us. i know they see young people (and cosplayers esp b/c we're considered immature) and think "bad tip," but Tom worked in restaurants and he STILL served young people well, he doesnt think there is any excuse to purposely give someone bad service when it's your JOB to serve them. i hate being discriminated against by my looks, b/c Gi makes damn good money and i am an amazing tipper! but we left her the shitty tip she was expecting (which was still like 12% b/c im a sucker) b/c she didn't put in any effort at all. fuck that.
back to the BCC we went. some crazy lady wanted our picture near the benches, which was funny.

around this time we went back to the room to change costumes (Gi into L'arc from Gunbuster 2 and me into Orihime).
i always try to make sure I molest Gi before we leave the hotel room, to get it out of my system, since, you know, it's frowned upon in public.

HAHAHA Gi's timer went off and mine didnt yet, so i made a face for the camera. also my tail is in motion (normally it's curved) and it looks so funny.
OKAY OMG. so we parked in this RANDOM far garage. it took us forever to find it, and when you drive in it says, in big scary yellow letters on the wall, "WELCOME, WE HAVE A SPACE JUST FOR YOU" or something creepy. we finally found the garage and the only way in was this SHADY elevator. i was convinced it would lead to the ninth circle of hell, but it let us off in the garage. it's silent, and THEN they start playing this freaky music! (as if someone watched us get off the elevator and pressed a button) it was like organ music or some shit, i felt like it should be in an episode of the Twilight Zone. Maggie described it perfectly when she called it "X-Files music." and just as soon as it had started, it randomly stopped and it got eerily quiet. *shudder* the whole place was just creepy. this picture was in the elevator.

i had a pretty good time! hanging out with Gi and Maggie is ALWAYS a good time (see: Anime Boston 2007, still my favorite con ever). i think my major gripes would be not finishing my Valkyrie skirt (i had someone - not a friend - say something snotty about it and it made me angry), having to literally avoid - as in, duck behind structures and run through crowds - people we fucking can't stand (again, not friends) and NOT managing to avoid a few, and not seeing Beth comic_heroine!
