haha it's ok. pretty much the thing is, i wasnt gung ho about buying it in the first place, and i kept saying no, and my mother and cousin just practically bought it for me, and i just gave up and signed the stupid paper. im not aggressive enough to do anything but collapse in those situations. they know how i feel, they just dont care. i was sick of arguing with them. i told them i didnt have THAT FEELING about this car and they kept telling me it was a one-in-a-lifetime deal and it was a good price, and that a FEELING isnt a good enough reason to buy a car. iiiii think your gut instinct is better than any logic, personally, and i was pissed that they basically ignored me b/c i didnt have a "real" reason for not wanting it and wanting a Toyota instead.
plus the whole time i felt like shit b/c the ppl checked my credit, and my score was decent (693), but all i have is one credit card with a $1,300 limit, which i never even approach really, and i pay the entire thing off every month to avoid charges. its cause my expenses are low, since i live at home, but like, that's WHY i live at home, you know? meanwhile my sister has finance charges up the wazoo and has maxed hers out before, i think she has more than one, plus she had student loans in her name (is it my fault i didnt need those!?), so her whole financing package is better b/c while idk her SCORE, her overall credit is more established. and the guy treated HER like an adult & ignored me. plus she got $500 off b/c she'd graduated from college in the past 2 years, and i did that too long ago.

but it makes me feel better that you said what you did. :) i do LIKE the car. and i did get that color!!! my sister got the cobalt blue, which i think is fancy, but the ice blue is really pretty and would have been the color Matrix i would have wanted. so that's neat. :) i have to pick it up on Monday. and you're right - i have a lot of friends who got new cars, but they either have rich parents who bought the whole thing in one payment, or arent paying the cars off themselves. so its kind of cool that im going to own a NEW CAR by MYSELF, i guess, too!
Honestly Laurie, it's your first car too. Like, it would be totally awesome to get exactly what you wanted right away, but you'll eventually get your dream car. And by that time, maybe the Golf will be a freakin' hybrid and you'll get 500mpg. :) Anyway, it's not too cool that your family pressured you into buying it, though. It's a big decision to buy a car!
