Thank you tinted_glass :) and *HUGS* to you for your wonderful Sting journal posts. Paul and Robert make the perfect slashy couple. I am trying to write a piece of fiction at the moment.

When asked about his friendship with Paul Newman, Bob said

"There are certain friendships that are sometimes too good and too strong to talk about. What developed between us just happened so naturally, and we didn't question it".

*grins* You're very welcome. The Sting doesn't get nearly enough love in fandom. It's very puzzling and somewhat troubling, since the movie is one hundred kinds of brilliant and fun. Also, one can never forget the high slash content between two of the most beautiful men to ever grace the silver screen.

I really do believe Robert and Paul's friendship has a romantic quality to it. I don't necessarily mean sexual (although oh my god my nose bleeds for this to be true), but they have such glorious chemistry and love for each other's company. And I think they really needed to have a deep emotional connection for that to happen, just something really amazing to keep them so invested in a meaningful and fulfilling relationship after all these years. It's endearing and adorable. :)
