Shelly Symes is the most sincere person in the entire world. She is also one of the strongest. I have strong admiration for this lady.

I met here a couple years ago, when I worked at Canadian Tire. She was one of those customers that no matter how snotty the cashier was, she'd yarn with them anyways, and you'd just know that when she left, she didn't talk about you. I encountered her many times, and always enjoyed serving her and listening to her crazy day, because she always shared it with me. Eventually I realized she was from Fortune, and then I asked her if she had any kids in cadets, and of course there was Matthew. From that point on, she made a point to come to my register, and always chatted with me.

I loved Matt. I did. Even though it was impossible for us to be as close because he was in fortune, he was always fun to be around, and at camp, we were the best of buddies.

Today, I seen Shelley for the first time since Matts death. I noticed her in my checkout line at walmart, where I work now. I had to look twice, but then she smiled at me, and I almost screamed Hi at her. I wanted to chat all about Matthew and ask her about the funeral, I knew I couldn't do it, I couldn't even say his name.

Then she said....."I seen what you wrote on the memorial site, it was really nice, thanks". She then told me how she reads the all, and how much she appreciates them. I filled up, I thought I was going to screech. She is such a strong woman, because she remained smiling, she did say, "She might never get through this". Matthew will be in her heart forever of course, and she will never let him go. I think she doesn't want to break down, because shes staying strong for the rest of it, if she can do it, so can we.

Just wanted to throw this out, let you guys know shes reading, and its nice for her to see your comments. Once again I'm leaving this unlocked because I think everyone deserves to know what a special lady she truly is. :)
