The four Rs

Reading
I've just barreled through the Mistborn series by Sanderson. I'm apparently a book behind on The Wheel of Time and need to reread at least the last two or three of those. But I figured since I enjoyed the last one, I might as well read the stand-in author's own work.

I was also thinking of when I can get a laptop/ereader/netbook and maybe collecting some of my favorite comics digitally instead of hard copy. Would it be as satisfying? I think so.

One thing that Mistborn has taught me is that, since the short story I've written is one of three to make a complete narrative, I don't think I can really release it until I've written enough of the next two pieces for some nice foreshadowing. Sure, I know what's going to happen, but since the story has a tendency to write itself, maybe I need to be able to edit them all together. And then who knows, maybe it'll be a novel instead of a series of shorts.

Every now and then, I just miss math. B has been working on one of the programming holy grails and I was able to help with my random mathiness. It was nice and generally makes me long for those hours spent programming right before I left work. There are several projects I'd love to spend some time on. Then again, I only have two weeks left of maternity leave.

Reality
It's nearly been a month since E was born. I never did call the EA counselors about the PPD. It's mostly passed now, but B still won't let me exercise beyond a quick mile or less walk every now and then. Of course, that's more related to my pre-preggo pants not fitting and the maternity jeans falling off my ass than my emotional state. Maybe.

It was nice having all the family here over the holidays, but I'll admit that it's pretty awesome having the ability to start getting into our own new-baby routine. And I've changed all my plans. If I win the lotto, the first thing I'm getting is a wet-nurse for E.

Owwie.
