Nutrition rethink

Alright, I'll admit it, I'm vain. Not that you'd know it to look at me, I know. Last time (a la Kaylee), I lost the entire baby weight in the first 6 weeks. Of course, I subsequently gained 10 pounds, but that wasn't from her. So, I actually have that as a goal this time. Not just losing the Elissa weight, but also that sneaky 10. Let's get back to pre-babies weight by February. It's actually a reasonable goal for me.

So, I have basic concepts. Loving Alton Brown as I do, I went looking for his Live and Let Diet lists. And I found this blog about that episode. It borders on the hippy, which is funny because it's somewhat anti-granola. Now, I've already been a big hater of soy (it's in EVERYTHING we eat) and its effects, so to start hearing more and more about raw food plans excluding grains even is pretty interesting to me.

Given that I'm a carboholic, it may be that my trigger food is bread (instead of milk for Alton). Well, I don't think it's a trigger, so much as the bullet itself. Anyway, in trying to customize my own dietary lifestyle choice (myDLC), could I manage to eat only "good carbs" (goodbye Tollhouse!) or free-range carbs (veggies) or even no carbs? Not bloody likely.

Lesson of the day: Processed food is still processed food, whether the carbohydrates have been synthetically removed or not. Stick to eating real food and you'll never have to worry about carbs.

More on this topic as my detailed DLC comes into design.
