Originally uploaded by newfernI have been working on a 401k rollover from EIP @ [COMPANY 1] into Hewitt @ [COMPANY 2] since January in preparation for purchasing a primary residence in April. EIP was the initial problem, but they finally released the funds in a check sent directly to Hewitt on 3/5.

I have been calling Hewitt nearly every day since then to complete the rollover. At first they were immensely helpful, calling EIP with me and pushing things through. Then it all stopped. After I received two confirmations on 3/16 and 3/17 that the check was found and would be applied to my account, Hewitt Sent The Check Back. I got a manager call on3/22 saying they should not have returned the check to me. That manager confirmed on 3/23 that they were investigating whether all the paperwork was sound and if the check could be processed if I send it back. Then I heard Nothing.

I called today, only to be told that Hewitt does not have managers on the floor to speak with me and that my only option is to schedule another call back and that they will Try to call me back tomorrow. Try. Tomorrow. I am about two weeks from my Closing on the new house and I don't know if they will even accept the rollover check, much less have time to process it, allow me to schedule a loan, disburse the funds, and give me enough time to get a cashier's check before Closing.

Hewitt has gone complete 180 on me, from being extremely helpful to stone-walling every request I make for information. I am absolutely distressed and just need an answer instead of silence. No one seems willing to provide me any details on how to resolve this issue. Why can't I just send them the check and be done? Why am I terrified that I won't be able to buy my house in two weeks? This should have been the least painful part of the entire process and instead I have stomach pains and migraines whenever I have to talk to or about Hewitt.

Please help me.
