sorry kip

Phase I, complete. That is, we signed the contract to buy a home if we can sell ours. So, IF everything falls into place, we'll be moving for the Kipper's first birthday. That means it's highly unlikely that she will be getting that three-layer banana fosters replica of the Goddard school I was contemplating for the event.

It also means that our mortgage payment goes up by nearly 50%, but for that we get more than double the square footage. We definitely chose within/below our means with the first house. And it's been fine, really. But it's time to get into the place we want to stay while we raise the family.

I'd really like to have the space to invite people over, family to stay for visits, and have more than one child of my own. And that's what this house represents... or rather is. And the coolest thing by far is that we are picking all the stuff that will go in it. So if the tile doesn't match the carpet or the paint, that's all our fault.

Oh. Another exciting part is that our driveway will likely be level-ish instead of 20 degrees uphill! It's mostly just nerve-wracking to commit that much of our income to the house. And it's well within the recommended amount. But our manner of living is pretty comfortable being able to spend anything all the time. Now, we might *gasp* have to abide by a budget.

It's terrible. It's tragic. It's worth it.
