finally

So, I have been barely scraping by in this art class. Quizzes, all 100%, drawings... the first one, I think I posted it, that was 100%. But the last two have been... uninspired. That's the real rub. Technically proficient, technique understood, accuracy livable, but power? none. Appeal? lacking.

That's why I struggle. The hubby reminds me that this is supposed to be fun and a learning experience. But I managed two 18x24 final drawings that I am perfectly willing to burn. I didn't even photo them to share here. And the current project, I have been fighting with for 3 classes now.

But there is a little slice of heaven in this drawing. 2x1 inches of my favorite piece of work ever. Now if I can just get the rest of the canvas complete, with any semblance of "accuracy" (this is an imaginary place rather than a still life). I will feel like my participation in the class is back on track. More so because my drawing is completely different so far than anyone else's.

We're doing a city scape, and everyone else is IN their city, for lack of a better description. My drawing is from a vantage point instead. So I have room to play with it more. I am trying to make it sci-fi (with a hint of *Batteries not Included). Anyway, I'll share a photo if I ever finish it the way I want.
