So, the news is that my spine is shaped exactly opposite of all theoretic expectations. (Neck curve to the rear actually goes forward; left-right straightness is swishy; c1 levelness is tilted.) And they stood in awe at the wonder they found. How is it that I don't get regular headaches? Amazing.
For my first visit to a chiropractor ever, I must say it was incredible. If you've never had an adjustment, it's kinda like every movie death-blow you've ever seen. On the other hand, startling as it must look, destructive as it sounds, it is the best feeling in the 'verse. Mmmm, add the electrode stimulus under warm compress and the heated massage waterbed and I really cannot understand why I've never gone to a chiropractor before.
We have a few more immediate sessions to get rid of the.. oh! By the way, this morning I woke up with an intense pain in my neck. Interestingly enough, it wasn't my boss. ;) The single session has made it so that I can sit comfortably, without the mind-numbing ache. But one day I hope for the pain to go away completely.
The not as bad news is that the doc(?) says that this looks long term enough to not have been caused by one night's bad sleep or the last two days of 12 hour work days. Yes, I've missed all my social engagements this week due to our code freeze prep. But next week will be awesome. I will have several more visits under my belt and I will be able to actually leave work before 8p.
