I read A Child Called "It" by David Peltzer and it was an amazing story of a child being abused in the most cruel ways and it was a true story. As I was reading this I was wondering how this child who had no reason for hope did and prayed to GOD sometimes. He stated that he didn't believe because what kind of GOD would allow this happen to a child who had done nothing wrong. My faith was tested today in this book because I can not begin to comprehend how this could happen. I also see that good and evil are constant in our lives and that GOD can't do everything. Humans seem to make a lot of the problems that are constant in the world but how can our faith in a higher being help us? I know that there is a greater power out there because I have been so fortunate in my life, or there at least gurading angels. In this fast pasted society where does our faith belong? I was talking to Shannon and I asked her so many questions about Morman beliefs and it was just amazing to me about what they believe. Family and friends are at the core of their beliefs and I think that in our world today we have gotten so far from that. Its no longer the family, but the individual who is very materialistic. It saddens me that we work and go to school so much that we don't get to see our family and our extended family as much as before. Christmas is one of those sad commericialzed holidays that was so holy at one time but in our capitalistic society people are able to make money off of it. I realized this, holidays are not about gifts, but spending time your family. I really want to believe, but I feel so lost. What Church should I go to, what should I believe?
