Hello again,
I had another awesome day, but let me finish with yesterday Sunday. I finally unpacked, took me about 30 minutes, started to get hungry so I decided to go eat something. I went to the front desk and asked if I could get my room changed, they agreed and also told me it was ready right then and there. They asked me to switch rooms asap, they called a bell person to help me move. He followed me to my room and helped me put the stuff I unpacked back in my suitcases…UGH.
As I was packing my stuff again I felt kinda awkward with a 4 lb bag of beef jerky, I did not want him to see it, it was a weird moment. I had to hide it, don’t ask me why. I felt bad.
2 trips later from one room to another I was so hot, I stayed in my room for about 1 hour extra just trying to cool down and re-unpack everything. I finally got to the restaurant and had a nice brunch, Indian food. I am trying to really to eat the local food. Like I said in the earlier posting, I thought jet lag was not bothering me. Yeah right. As I sat in the dinning room I started to feel really tired, and a little sick to my stomach, one of the dishes must not have agreed with me. I paid the bill and walked fast to my room. The rest was history……….
Chatted with Tony online for a bit, laid down to take a nap around 230p. Woke up at 9p, got something to drink, laid down again and woke up at 5a.
First day of work.
I had scheduled transportation with the transportation department, I stood in front of the entrance for 5 minutes waiting for the driver. By the time he showed up a I was a wet rag. OH MY GOD THIS HEAT AND HUMIDITY.
Everyone is super nice, very nice building. We had team meeting and apparently FCE Mathura road is moving to Gurgoan next year. We saw drawings of the new building and is going to be amazing. The work I'm doing is great, I’ve had to start keeping notes on all the new acronyms I'll be using.
Funny thing for lunch, I asked where they had lunch and I was told they eat in the lunch room. A vendor comes in and provides food for them, they also told they don’t even eat that food. I thought well, if you don’t even like that food I can guarantee I will not eat it. They all started laughing, specially after I told them I forgot my stomach medication in the hotel. Ended up having Pizza, had it delivered.
The transfer from the hotel to the office was an eye opening, the traffic and the poverty was amazing. I am humbled and I appreciate everything I have even more. For dinner I had tandori chicken, with some nan bread.
Getting kinda of tired, will write more in a few days.
Have a good day…
