Marie led Syusuke up the stairs and into the house. "House is pretty much unlocked during the day," she said, "Not much need to lock it when there are only about seven people in Haven and most of us live here. Well, for the moment."
She didn't mention to Syusuke that she intended to leave soon, though as she walked up the steps it occurred to her she might want to make sure he was settled in before she packed up her bike and left. "Ami? Michelle? Anyone?" Ami hopefully would be back from the place she'd gone, or one of the others. Indy was probably asleep in his room.
Much to her relief, Ami came down from upstairs. It looked like she'd just washed, which meant that she'd just come back, so at least Marie hadn't come home to a practically empty house.
"Ami, I found the young man Anna mentioned," Marie said. She looked at Syusuke, and then back to Ami. "Ami, this is Syusuke Fuji. Fuji-san, this is Ami Jackson, our host. Fuji-san's from Tokyo, Japan."
She hoped that the two would take to each other. As it was, she needed to bring up living arrangements, but that didn't have to be right that second. Maybe after she convinced Syusuke to stay here. Then she could stay on the couch until she was ready to take off. No need to spook Syusuke or Ami.
