Kal sighed as she stepped out of the house and looked at the yard where the horses were grazing. The house was empty, in good condition, had strong shutters, and a very secure barn. The house itself was an okay size, four large bedrooms, a nice living area, a huge kitchen, and a rather fancy dining room. It had been a well loved house when people had lived there, but it was vacant now. From the stuffiness of the air, it had been a long time since someone had been there. On the especially bright side, no one had died there violently.
Kal hugged herself as she looked at the pictures on the mantle. A happy family with a mother, father, and two little toddlers stared back at Kal. It was sad and Kal quickly placed the pictures face down, she'd find a box later and pack away the belongings of the people who had lived here. She just couldn't stand to see the evidence of people who were obviously not home anymore.
The feeling of someone right behind her, far too close sent Kal whipping around. She slipped on her own feet, but managed to get M & P out and pointed. A millisecond passed before Kal's brain snapped back into control.
"Oh Gojyo, I'm so sorry, I didn't even think!" she cried as she shoved the gun back into the holster under her jean jacket while on her back on the floor. "I'm so sorry I pointed a gun at you. I feel so horrible." She sighed as she shook her head.
"It's just this stupid, new world, I've just seen so many things...my body sometimes acts before my brain can tell me to think. I'm sorry."
