Mark smiled at the kind offer, but politely declined. "No thanks." He whispered. "I'll be alright." Mark had that gift of being able to focus on what was bothering other people instead of his own problems. In fact, he'd much rather worry about Lelin that worry about himself. He'd rather be here holding him and comforting him. He actually hadn't noticed until now how soothing it was to be touching Lelin. His skin was so smooth and soft. Mark couldn't say he didn't like it.
"Okay. But when you do need it, I'll return the favor," he whispers. Lelin's feeling a little better now that the hardest of his sobs have stopped. Maybe it was the crying, maybe it's the fact that for the first time since Dyu's death, he doesn't feel alone anymore.
He'd like to get a little more comfortable sitting up, but he doesn't want to offend Mark by moving in too close to him too soon. So for now, he stays where he is, tears stopping slowly.
Mark pulled back at little to look at him and smiled supportively. He ran his thumb under Lelin's eye and wiped away a small tear. "There we go." He whispered. He wanted to say 'All better', but he knew that wouldn't be true. Nothing would be all better for Lelin until Dyu came back to life. And nothing would be all better for Mark until Roger appeared. But since neither of those things was going to occur, this was as good as it was going to get.
Le smiles back for a few seconds and leans his head into the touch a little. Mark's hand is softer than he's used to, there are no calluses from constantly holding either pen, microphone, or drumsticks, and it catches him off guard at first.
"He's probably somewhere laughing at me for this. Never understood how I could love him so much despite all his self-destructive tendencies and occasional hookups with random people he wanted."
Mark let out a soft laugh. "You have no idea how familiar that sounds." He murmured. This was so weird. Lelin's life seemed to parrallel his in almost every way. It was like...alternate reality kind of thing. He cupped Lelin's face and stroked his cheek with his thumb. "I'm sure he's not laughing at you. I'm sure that...he's very greatful for how much you cared about him and were there for him."
"Like I said earlier, you think you're alone in the world until you find someone who's been through a lot of the same. It's creepy, but one of my other friends used to think everything important or weird happened because it was supposed to." Le misses Nikki's attitude, even though he knows he'll never be able to copy that laid-back fatalism in his own life. He jumps a little when a tree branch falls and bangs against the roof and laughs at his skittishness.
Mark's words just make him shrug a little. Despite being with him for nearly five years, Le never became too good at guessing everything that went on inside Dyu's head. "Maybe, maybe not. Hell, maybe someone out there's pregnant and he's gonna be reincarnated in nine months." Not that Lelin believe in reincarnation, he's just using it to say that anything's possible.
Mark looks up startled as the tree branch falls. It frightens him too. He shares a small laugh with Lelin, gently running his fingers through the other man's hair. He supposed they were both a little bit scared of something more than the little tree branch. Much more. "I think that too." He whispered. Mark thought that it was not a coincidence that him and Lelin met and had so much in common, right down to their late boyfriends.
Mark shrugged at the reincatnation statement. "Anything is possible."
Being afraid of things right now is reasonable. And Mark hasn't even seen a zombie yet. Hopefully the cameraman won't have to, either. Xander's team should have an easier job taking care of the creepies now that most of the leftover bodies have been taken care of. Le again stiffens briefly when his hair gets stroked, not relaxing again for longer this time.
At least the storm's easing up, he tells himself. If there was still thunder and lightning going on, he wouldn't really be able to sleep. "I'm not sure what I think or believe right now. Used to think dead people stayed dead and that ghosts were silly, but I've seen zombies get up and walk around and I swear I've seen ghosts on the nights I can't sleep."
With all of the strange things happening lately, his logical mind's being quite strained.
Mark knew that couldn't be true. Through all the chaos he needed to keep a logical head on his shoulders. He was sure that with all that Lelin had been through, he was only seeing things. That was the only explination out there. Mark refused to believe in zombies and ghosts and stupid things like that. It was just stress. He could tell that deep down Lelin needed to relieve some stress. He knew how to do that...but was it too soon? They just met. Mark gently rubbed Lelin's shoulders, hoping it was okay.
It makes a little sense for him to be seeing Dyu when he's unable to fall totally asleep, but there's no explanation for rotting corpses that walk around at night. If he hadn't seen it for himself, he wouldn't believe it either. He's stressed and frequently uses pain pills for their intended purpose, but not to the point of hallucinating.
When Mark rubs his shoulders, Le sighs softly and attempts to let himself relax a little more. His head's still spinning from everything that's happened in the past couple hours, as well as the codeine starting to take effect on his brain more deeply. "...maybe I should try to sleep. Nothing else'll help me feel calmer."
Mark wished he wouldn't. He was starting to feel this...attraction towards Lelin. He didn't know if it was really anything at all, but he wanted to stay awake with him and...be here for him and make him happy. "I...I could help you feel calmer." He tried that, and hoped that it might work.
"How?" He asks, even though he already knows the answer in the back of his mind. At least, he knows what he'd be suggesting if the situation was reversed. Lelin rests his hands on Mark's thighs and bites his lip lightly. If he's right, he'll be torn between wanting it, wanting to stop thinking for however long it lasts, and being terribly nervous about the whole idea. Mark still hasn't said whether or not he caught anything during his years with Roger.
Mark's eyes travelled down to the hand on his thigh. He had to give credit to Lelin for being very forward with him and not wasting time on mind games. In a moment his mind was made up and he leaned forward and pressed his lips to Lelin's. The kiss was gentle and curious and in the split second where Lelin hadn't kissed back yet, he wondered if he was going to get his ass kicked.
In the seconds before he gets kissed, Le decides to try not to think and to just act for the time being. It'll be better than worrying or being unsure about what, if anything, this is going to mean down the road. Comfort is comfort, no matter what form it ends up taking.
He kisses back lightly, grey eyes closing slowly, and keeps his hands where they are for the time being.
Mark was delighted to feel Lelin's lips push back lightly on his and he immediatly pushed harder and pressed his body again's Lelin's. Mark ran his hand down Lelin's back and felt his muscles. His skin felt so warm and relaxing. Mark wondered if he was getting in too deep. He just met this man. He almost let the thought enter his mind that this was cheating on Roger, but he let that thought go. Didn't even let it cross his mind. He pulled back slowly and smiled. "Good to know that we're on the same page."
Without thinking, he moves to straddle Mark's lap just to make this a little more comfortable, thin fingers sliding away for the time being. Lelin gasps when their chests touch, even though both of them are still wearing shirts. They just met, but this makes sense on some level. They both need it, that much is obvious, and he's not letting himself think about whether or not he'll regret it in the morning.
"Just...one question before we actually do anything. You're totally healthy, right?"
