The current trend of agriculture does not prove anything new. Rather, we humans are simply improving the Science of Agriculture in the wake of our own tendancy to destroy and rebuild. We have spent the past gazillion or so years destroying and rebuilding in our subconcious quest to be greater than human. So in other words, as we attempt to be "greater than human," we seem to be comprehending or grasping the Science of Utility... we seem to be grasping the Scientific aspects of Agriculture. And Agriculture is our great utility; it is how we have survived and progressed and conquered and become decadant. We seem to be garnering the aptitude of Agriculture in the same way. Because we have forced the opportunity upon ourselves by wave of problems, we now must become more efficient.
In our 18th century attempt at Reason, and our 19th century call to Mobility, and our 20th century attempt to feed the world's populace, the leading edge of the Progress of Human Society has destroyed much and caused problems. We didn't cause the problems on purpose! Not the problems we face today, not the problems that we tell ourselves that we have to fix.(Humans do not cpnsciously cause themselves probles that hey must fix; that is called a psychosis.) The problems that we face today concerning our natural resources, like water and soil quality, are the real problems. Climate change is only proff that humans are adaptable; the soil and the water are the resources that humans need to utilize their own progress. Anyhow, the "problems" concerning natural resources are the reason that we humans are accelerating so quickly our drive to produce food and energy more efficiently, and medicine more effectively.
That's all I may know right now. Do what you can. Most likely you will die one day. Your long life will be a speck of sediment stuck between two rock layers. If you're lucky, in a million years or so, a stream of water may come and erode your foundation, liberating your earthbound soul.
