The sort of coooool thing about shingles is the way they don't cross the spine.
did you never have chicken pox as a child?

Oh I did.

But what happens is when you get chicken pocks, the virus goes dormant just below the spine. When you go under severe emotional or physical stress, or certain medicines, it reacivates the virus. Shingles actually are an attack on the nervous system, attacking the nerves from my spine to my belly button..with puss-filled sores that are nasty.

I will be in pain for about 3 months, and will have skin discoloration for about a year. The sores dissappear wihthin the next 3 weeks...but its been 2 weeks already

yeah. i understand shingles. i think they're fascinating, despite the fact that they're terrible. the way that the body reacts to stress is intense.

Hehe..wanna see them? Im in the scabbing stage, where they are flaking off...but meh.

Im laying on my couch, dealing with the intense pain. ha

i thought i had them back in the fall. i was really emotionally torn apart. i got these hive-ish blisters on my back, but then they crossed my spine and i sighed a sigh of relief heard around the world.
i'm sorry you're dealing with that, though.
