this week has made me realise just how much i LOVE photography. i'm slowly getting to like darkrooms (everything is so much better when yr negs are good and yr prints print easily and perfectly!). i left college today feeling the best i have ever felt and the sky was blue and the sun was out with the first hints of spring. i'm really torn now as to what i want to do in second year, but i think i'm still going to do tapestry becuase although i love photography i still want to draw and paint and do knitting and weaving and things.
from film 1: which i shot yesterday afternoon in the pouring rain. i walked into every hairdresser salon / barbers shop from the top of leith walk right down to ocean terminal and took shots in everyone that allowed me to do so. i found it so nerving at first and it took so much courage to go into the first salon and ask them. but as i went on and on it got easier. only one salon out of the 10 or so i went into said no. i few of the younger female clients in the more modern/trendy salons refused to hae their pics taken but all the old ladies were loving it! haha.
i forgot to bring the contact sheet home with me, its in my box in the photog dept.
film 2: andy. i wasnt going to take this anywhere really. its too literal for the portrait breif but my tutor really liked the film so i'm gonna develop the rest once i'm done with the hair/barber salon film. check the lovely white marks on the print thanks to my chemical covered fingers. oops.
contact prints. they got a bit fogged as i didnt hold down the glass properly.
i wish i owned a scanner. i'll scan all the finnished prints in college or something.
