Saturday I studied Japanese, looked at a Maebashi city festival, and played an hour of dota 2.
Sunday I attended Mass, a festival afterward celebrating our church's patron, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, eating lots of food (for roughly 1000 yen) and not understanding lots of conversation; gave a 10 minute presentation in Japanese concerning urban sprawl in Tennessee; spent several hours not understanding hardly anything anyone said; attended a get-together informal BBQ party at church that I realized halfway through that I technically wasn't invited to; understood little of what anyone said, drank a substantial amount of whiskey and cognac, and studied Japanese; stayed up late to go with them to play with Japanese fireworks (sparklers of various kinds) at a park (where I again understood very little of anything said).
