i'm so over these things but this is fun cause they don't let you pick the songs.

Open your music library [iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, etc].
» Put it on shuffle.
» Press play.
» For every question, put the song that's playing.
» When you go to a new question, skip to the next song.
» Ready? GO!

Scene                           Song                                                      Quick Interpretation/plot:
Opening Credits:          A Million Ways - OKGo                    sounds like my life is being set up to be a quirky romantic comedy

Waking Up:     The More You Live, The More You Love - Flock of Seagulls       again, quirky romantic comedy.  reflecting on heartbreak, or something

Normal Day:          Chinatown - Joe Jackson                  this is me going to work in the morning.  i work in chinatown.

The Secret Crush:     The Lonely - British Sea Power        unrequited love.  this truly is my life story!

Falling In Love:       Tara Reid is a Whore - Head Automatica      this song implies a chance meeting at a bar, followed by a spicy, meaningless hookup or something

Sex Scene:      No One Will Remember You Tonight - Maritime        eesh.  empty, bitter sex, possibly even angry or violent

Enter the Villain!:       Jonathon Fisk - Spoon                        this works.  i can see some, like, greaser dude rollin' down the street all angry

Fight Scene:     Town Called Malice - The Jam             this works too!  the fight would be a little perky, but since the movie is a quirky romantic comedy, the music could stand to be a little sarcastic

Breaking Up:          Robot - The Futureheads                      this is good.  it's about being mechanical and following the one you love forever.  so in my movie i'm frantically sad and kinda stalkerish

A Mental Breakdown!:      Call It a Day - The Raconteurs   now i'm processing the breakup and i'm roaming the east village in the rain wanting emotional freedom from the exlover and coming to terms with things

Montage/Flashbacks:   Saves The Day - Bones                   this song is about being eaten by wolves.  i swear to god.  i can't make this shit up.  so i guess i'm asking myself how the hell i got into such a ridiculous mess

Regretting:                  Victim of the Crime - Phoenix             PERFECT.  and so creepily personally true, in such a category.  thinking about the way things went down and realizing my mistakes, being mad at myself, withdrawing

Long Night Alone:       Black - Okkervil River                          laying sleepless in bed and just totally hating on everyone.  maybe getting up and punching walls or breaking mirrors or something

Searching for the Girl:  Intuition - Feist                                   trying to set things straight with this boy and do something real this time.  "a love is not complete/ with only heat"

The CHOICE:          On The Tower - Sondre Lerche               this is perfect, too.  longing, figuring out the best way to proceed.

Making up:          Can't Stop Now - Keane                                 making peace with myself

The Coma Scene: A Duel Will Settle This - Mates of State   this song is weird and flighty sounding, i guess it works for a coma scene.

Final Ending  :       Okkervil River Song - Okkervil River         i would definitely want to end my movie with this song.  more or less, it's me thinking about everything and how meaning disappears and we're left with memories and lonliness.

Credits:        Hustle Rose - Metric                                                kind of a melancholy, dancey song.  that fits.

ok so basically, my life the movie is about a hot, empty love affair that can't really be rekindled or turned into anything meaningful.  also there are exaggerated, wes-andersonesque 1950s villains.  for the fight scenes i picture something like the scene in the royal tenenbaums when royal and the grandkids go do fun things together and they're playing "me and julio" and frolicking.  that doesn't have anything to do with 1950s-style highschoolish villains, but for some reason that comes to mind.

and i searched and stared and only the river stared back!

anyway, i'm starting to plan julia's trip.  friday when she gets here we'll go right into coney island from the airport (who wants to come?), saturday will be in the city with friends from w&m hopefully (again, who wants to come?), sunday is montauk/ hamptons/ the east end all day (i've been looking at this pretty hard trying to figure out the best places to go.  i got some good recommendations from my mom's friend for bars and restaurants and there's a really popular, fun caribbean bar 4 miles from the beach i want to go to.  if you wanna come to this, too, let me know.  limited space in my car, unless someone else wants to drive as well.  blah blah), monday she leaves and i will be the sadz.

tomorrow i'm going to the culinary institute with my family for some good eatin' and then lesley is having a party which will be fun.  sunday i'm going to the beach with some NARAL friends.  next week will be crazy, too -- it's my last week of interning (frown / smile).  monday after werk i'm going to williamsburg with lesley to spend money i don't have, wednesday KAT will be in town (!!) meaning more awesome funtimes with alpha chis and liquor and nyc, and friday julia comes.  i also have 2 brown bag lunches with people for the american way - one wednesday and one friday - and those rule.  they're really fun, everyone who attends is really smart, and there's a goddamn jamba juice across the street.  happytown.

i saw charlotte and liz b again the other night - we ate at a really nice little italian restaurant on 6th between 55th and 56th and they had 2-for-1 martinis.  hoo dog.  liz also brought her adorable 15 year old brother.

i love things
