I had this conversation with stephanie and i really liked it, and i think it's one of the most important conversations i will ever have...i saw something in a profile of a masong gross bfa, and it really upset me...
>:o - put this in your profile if you are sick of hearing the BA's talk about Mason Gross, because they are mad that they didnt make it in with their audition....or they just werent good enough in the first place..
^ because of that, this conversation took place...
IHeartGardnState: i'm not even a ba anymore and i am so sick of hearing the craziness from the bfa's
Hoalba728: haha
Hoalba728: good for you
IHeartGardnState: it's so irritating
IHeartGardnState: cause they're wrong, they have no idea how hard you/i work
IHeartGardnState: i mean, we're doing twice the work
Hoalba728: yea!
Hoalba728: i agree
IHeartGardnState: and spending three times the money
IHeartGardnState: not only am i going here, but i am taking voice lessons, getting dance training, and acting training, they're just going here, i mean come on...what they are doing is great, but what we're doing is just as noble
Hoalba728: yupp
Hoalba728: totally
Hoalba728: and i hope that they dont make it
IHeartGardnState: yeah, me too
IHeartGardnState: and part of me thinks they won't
Hoalba728: good
IHeartGardnState: because, and this is why i fell in love with hb, here they have this theory and thought pattern, that they are theatre majors, bfa's, that defines them in a way that it doesn't for us, for them it's almost as if they are here to be able to say that they are here, whereas for us, it's very different. for us, we're here because we truly love what we do, the fact that we are theatre majors does not define us, what defines us is that we are actors, does that make sense, and that is what i love about hb, there is no ego, they are all struggling, starving artists, and actors, trying to make it on their merit and their talent, not how good their school or program is, but how good they truly are, and they are there to learn, not just to say they got a degree, but truly to learn their craft and to study what they love
IHeartGardnState: sorry, that is long, but i have been thinking these things through for a long time
take that for what you will...but it was important to me, and i wanted to share it with everyone
