Hatter's name made me giggle. So did picturing Jane Austen, Lewis Carroll and Nick Willing having tea. Just for the record. Lol.

Liking this Pride and Prejudicesque version of Alice. Very curious to see where it leads.

Happy to have inspired some giggles...

And I'm glad you like it. :-)

Truth be told, I whipped this up last minute in a frantic attempt to have something for the "AU" prompt of the first Quarterly Challenge...I hadn't really intended on expanding on it. But I've had some ideas on where I could go from here, so we shall see...

Thank you! :-)

I originally meant for this to be a one-shot, but I have a couple ideas for another chapter or two...so...who knows what will happen. It's all up to my muses.

LOL...I vaguely remembered that Lewis Carroll's supposed inspiration for the Mad Hatter had some kind of awesome name, so I looked it up specifically for this fic. In all my other fics, Hatter is always "Hatter"...but that just wouldn't do for a Jane Austen-era piece.

On the other hand...I wanted his name to be fun. So Theophilus it was. :-)

Depending on my muses, I may be expanding on this, so keep an eye out for another few chapters in the near future.

Cool...I'll have to check it out.

I stole that name Theophilus Carter from the gentleman whom it's said the character of the Mad Hatter is based on...or, at least, John Tenniel's famous illustrations are based on.

I don't even know if that sentence made sense...it's been a long week...

LOL...I've been patiently waiting to hear your thoughts on this fic...apparently, you like. :-)

I'm about halfway through the next chapter, even though this was meant to be a one-shot. LOL I'm going to try and have it up this weekend, but that may not happen...
