Let’s see what I love about this. The fact you can use such simple, concise language to paint a thousand pictures and emotions and do it so well. Yes, that’s what I love most. And it’s because not many people (Definitely not me) can do it all and you do it beautifully and make it look effortless. So well done.
Some of the phrasing really reached out of the screen and grabbed me: thing-from-poll-I've-never-written-before The ape thinks I’m a cat, now that’s brilliant lost in a roar of pleasure Those would be my top three, just in terms of phrasing. In terms of the actual ideas of this. Wow, going through, but by bit to pick them out and there are too many. I love the evolution of their relationship. I love the mistakes and the way he knows they’re mistakes and doesn’t do anything to stop them, because he knows. The way it ends, with him in the rain is just heart-wrenching and beautiful and symmetrical.

The second last one, with his 27 senses and a cramp in time: that, in itself, is just a brilliant idea.
