Joan was packing up her things for the next leg of the trip and decided she should check in with her boyfriend.

It took him a minute. The phone wasn't the most normal thing in the world, but he'd gotten accustomed to it.

"Oh nothing like that," he said with a brief laugh before taking another sip of his tea.

"Just that my stomach wasn't used to so much food and all of it so rich. I've gone back to simpler fare and it's behaving itself. And how about you? Tell me more about all the places you're seeing, hmm? It must be interesting."

She told him about all the cool and fun handwavy things she had seen and done in Vegas and Vancouver.

"And tomorrow morning we're going to San Francisco but in like the year 2022 or something, so that should be interesting."
