Presumably you’ve been overjoyed to not see my user name on your friend’s page for over 10 days now, and I would predict that your heart has just sunk. Still, I had LJ withdrawal symptoms (incessant tapping of the desk, nail biting, insane coffee drinking) and thought I had better type something.

Last week at work was a ray of sunshine, with me being given more unpaid responsibility, and more work to do. I guess it’s a step in the right direction (you know, a proper job) but it’s heartbreakingly dreary. To be fair, I had a sick day on Thursday where I ate grapes and watched TV, so I guess I shouldn’t moan. On the upside, it was pay day last Friday and I no longer fall below the poverty line.

Missed the gig last Thursday because of my ‘man flu’, but apparently it went fairly well. The gig we went and did on the 9th was reviewed in NME on Wednesday and it sounded pretty damn good, so that’s positive stuff (“…so, let E&OS into your hearts, and rejoice…”). Also, the reviewer didn’t mention my heinous mistakes that night, or the arguments between management. I was delighted.
Word on the grapevine is a two week summer tour of south coast universities (presumably Brighton, Southampton, Portsmouth…), which sounds so much fun. Hopefully it shall materialise, I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Not much planned for the next few weeks - I have arranged to take a week out from work and go to Aberystwyth to get some dissertation done - I shall be travelling down Friday Feb 2nd - really not looking forward to it, will be coming back the weekend after. We have to go and do a headline gig in London on the Thursday as well, so I shall probably be utterly exhausted and really irritable. Alongside that I have also pencilled in plans to travel to Cardiff to see Noisettes with Siân (Turley’s favourite new band. I shall have tickets to see them in Wolves the night before too - and no, I’m not a stalker).

This week shall undoubtedly involve a whole lot of nothing, depressing to the max. Anybody fancy trying to cheer me up?

X
