Actually, that really is Rufus there, but he was cheated to be in your party. In the same way that Sephiroth can be cheated to appear over top of Cloud's moves.
However, since Sephiroth was IN your party once, and Rufus is just a monster etctra, the game crashes when you have him in there.
It was an attempt at my boyfriend trying to hack it so you could play as Rufus, but since every time Rufus attacked, or got hit, or did anything it would crash. It wasn't feasible, but I still have the caps. You can change all the monster models into Rufus though, without there being any glitches. Eh it's kinda complicated to explain.
I just felt like... playing a practical joke XD

Oh so that's how you done it, that is pretty interesting. I use to fear those kinds of cheats because I was afraid my game data could be erased or something. I can be quite lame at times.
Wow, you and your boyfriend make quite a cool team. I can imagine how annoying it can be to fix those kinds of glitches. I'll be all stressed out.
But yeah you got me pretty good. Man I feel lame, tricked twice within the same week. *runs back to corner* But thanks for the laughs, I needed it. :D
Heh, good question! But I've been off work for the past few days but I'll be diving tomorrow. *hopes that I won't encounter any lobsters* I'm thinking about tricking my teammates back...but it might backfire, knowing my luck, lol.

Hm, the nice thing about PC version is you can back up all your files, or reinstall from fresh. Plus moving those hacks around is pretty easy with IPS files.
It's more him, he's the better FF7 editor (geez, that sounds like he's a program). I just do.. things like texture editing, model switching, things like that. They're pretty easy. He does the hard stuff like that. But he just told me he could probably replace Vincent with Rufus for real now. >>; It'd just take a lot of work.
Aww.. it's okay, it's not your fault. You didn't know I have evil caps of doom XD!
