This subject matter has been meticulously avoided...

But hey- here it is in hopes of having a go.

Sephiroth says that as a boy, he was “Different from the other children.” What other children? As Shin-Ra’s most valuable asset, and the soul variable (at the time) for the Jenova project, what other children was he around? Did they drop him off at ( Read more... )

To be honest, I'm not as aware as others here relating to the relationship with Hojo and Lucrecia. So I can’t really voice my opinion about that matter. The best I can say is that majority of us see Hojo as the father, however, it's still quite possible that Vincent could be the true father. Hojo doesn't seem to be the loving/romantic type, so imagining him getting serious with Lucrecia seems hard to believe.

As for Sephiroth's childhood...I think I can voice my opinion about this topic. Even though there were kids for Sephiroth to socialize with...allowing Sephiroth to play with them was a big no-no! Hojo maybe an evil, twisted little snake, but one thing he isn’t stupid. Sephiroth plays a HUGE role in his research, meaning the simplest thing can ruin everything, even allowing his son to play with other toddlers. Think about it...the children might tease Sephiroth as a kid which resulted in him asking Hojo his purpose and "why was he born this way" kind of thing. Hojo wouldn't give Sephiroth the answer he wants to hear, making Sephiroth search the labs and what not for information. So that could have been the end of it right there.

And even if Sephiroth and the kids got along just fine, lots of gossip, believe it or not, will go on within the young group. I mean, these kids are the children of Shin-Ra's finest scientists...so a few of them are sure to hold information, which Sephiroth would have used to find the truth.

So as farfetched as it sounds, Sephiroth would have been kept away from other kids since they could possibly ruin Hojo's plans. I doubt Sephiroth actually lived in a lab, but no doubt he paid frequent visits to one, or spent many hours in one, only to be later sent to his private room. That's how I see it anyway.

This is a great entry, nevertheless. Sorry I took so long to make a comment towards the topic.
