Hi I've just joined here from an invitation from Miguel (Hi!-thanks!). Wow I've read through some of the posts here and some of the ideas/theories you have come up with I would never have thought of - especially the Rinoa/Ultimecia theory, its quite deep and I would not have thought of it before.
FF7 is my favourite FF, maybe because it was the FF ( Read more... )

Thank you! I'm glad you didn't get bored reading it - I know I wasn't bored writing it. I'm glad you agree with my views on Rufus also - yeah I agree he is a really talented fighter - I reckon he must have really trained hard - I think that as Junon's leader he wouldn't have wanted any SOLDIER member to out-do him (except for Sephiroth but even Rufus could accept that!)

But about the Healin Lodge, I didn't mean that Rufus owned it - just that it seems to be a very private exclusive hospital and that it probably costs quite a lot of money to recieve care and have a room there.

As for Rufus being near death, I'm not sure if I agree with that, but it could be the case, as your right the Turks do look very serious and downhearted there - but I just thought it was because they were waiting to see if Rufus's plans had worked and Sephiroth would be defeated, they wouldn't have heard from Cloud and the others at that point I believe- I'd look serious and downhearted if there was a chance the world was going to be destroyed in a minute! But as we do not know the full extent of Rufus's Geostigma it's difficult to say, Nojima says he is acting to need the wheelchair, but Cloud and Denzel did not need a wheelchair and I could imagine a scenario of them being near death suddenly, especially after exhausting yourself falling of a building and shooting at Kadaj! Not enough is known about Geostigma itself really - I know when people die black pus comes out from all over their body (gross!) but would there be any signs of being near death - like being covered in scars - or does it just happen?Maybe we'll never know. I'm glad he did live anyway! ^_^

Oh as to the mako theory - i did actually see that post on the other Rufus community - I personally don't think he is infused with Mako - and that he just trained - I would imagine that he would think himself 'better' than the SOLDIER members and not to need it. And he probably also had more sense than to let any of Shinra's wierd experiments to be used on him. His eyes are quite bright blue though... but not quite like Cloud's eyes - they've made them more..shiny?

Oh, I'm sorry; I thought you meant he owned it. I’m sorry, my mistake, lol.

I love your come back answer about the Turks and why they were looking* so* serious. I suppose I would feel a bit nervous too, knowing that the planet can be wiped out at any moment. It would have been interesting to wonder if* Cloud ever reported back to Rufus about the details. As for geostigma, it is an enigma. Actually, you are right. We all just assumed that Rufus was in bad condition from the stigma since he was sitting in a wheelchair. But when Rufus revealed he can walk, and the chair was a mere ruse, it made us wonder what kind of condition he is really in. Yeah so maybe he wasn’t really dying when he was in the chair again in the ending, instead just really fatigue.

I just wish many other people knew about Nojima confirming that Rufus can walk, it's like some people are so confused about the matter. At least we know the truth. I'm glad you really clarified it, though. :D

One thing is for sure, Rufus fooled me. :D

At first, the thought of him using Mako was a cool idea, but then I realized it would tarnish his reputation as being smart. So yeah, he did train very hard to gain the skills he has. To me, the stunt he pulled in AC showed me that Rufus was probably training some more, after he made a full recovery from the incident. I can't see him not training for two whole years, lol. As for the eyes...I wish I knew. :P

Yeah, thats just what I thought though. If you want to read the 3N interview (and I'd recommend it) then its in the FF7AC prologue book, and you can find a translation of it on this site http://xthost.info/ffwebnovel (but unfortunately the site doesn't seem to be responding right now- maybe try later?). It seems a lot of people are unaware that it is a fact that Rufus can walk, i've seen so many fanfics and comments where people think he's permanently in a wheelchair (often as a result of the explosion if FF7), it's probably because such a big thing was made of him being "The Wheelchair Man." But I feel knowing this adds somewhat to the story - for Rufus fans at anyrate. This is why they should release versions of the Japanese books in English - they would clarify so much for people!

Awesome, I shall give it a read once the site is up and running ok. Thanks for sharing. Oh yes, I read those kinds of stories as well. Like you said, it's such a big deal that he survived that explosion, but some people have a hard time believing it, so they keep telling themselves he's wheelchair bound, which is not the case. To me, it's not that hard to except. He's a fighter, the building was pretty strong, and took most of the impact. I guess the only thing that happened to Rufus was that he was unconscious for a few days or weeks, a few scrapes, and needed lots of bed rest, other then that, the man is walking tall. :D
