The Sister Ray and Meteor
As I was playing through the second disc of Final Fantasy 7, I remembered one of my favorite moments. This is when the Sister Ray fires in Midgar. I totally forgot the overwhelming power of the Sister Ray. I felt bad for Diamond Weapon at first, all it was doing was trying to do is protect the planet. Then again, if Avalanche didn't injure Diamond Weapon, it would have killed everybody in Midgar. I know the planet was really drained when the Sister Ray fired its powerful cannon. It's no wonder Meteor whipped out everything. What I'm about to say might sound stupid, but this idea came to me, and I thought about it for a few moments. If Shinra found some way to generate The Sister Ray's power to the sky towards meteor, would that have destroyed it, or at least break it up a bit? Part of me doubts it, but it was just a brief thought. But I won't be shocked if that plan was to fail.
I'm starting to understand what Meteor's job was, for instance its purpose and why. When I first played the game, I thought it was just an ironic situation, that the earth failed to prevent, and that it had nothing to do with the punishment of the people. I see that I was wrong. Meteor's job was to "end everything," Shinra Inc, people's homes, Soldier, Midgar, and etc. In a sense, it forced everybody to start over from scratch. I now strongly believe that Shinra Inc. will be rebuilt, and used for good because the fact that Reno even mentioned it is a hint right there. It hit me that if they really wanted people to wonder if Shinra was to come back or not, then they would have never mentioned in the first place. Not to mention Reeve created his own organization from scratch, and Rufus is far more wealthier then he is, so I think if Reeve can do it, then Rufus can as well. Let's not forget about the city "Edge," that was built within two years, not bad at all. So it shows us that everything ended, and will have to be revived all over again, the hard way.
