Where: Set in the streets of New Sanctum, but can also take place anywhere.
When: 11th December, 12:35pm
Notes: Well as the title suggests, this is the obligatory run up to Christmas event though it can also be known as 'the result of Darkslayer709's overtired brain and aversion to sleep. One thing to be noted is that although this is set in the streets, this ( Read more... )

If there was one thing he loathed and despised more than anything else (aside from irritating younger twin brothers who would always reserve the number 1 spot on his list of ‘top ten annoyances’) it was the cold. His job as a demon hunter always took priority over his likes and dislikes but there were times when he really wished people would deal with their own problems instead of calling him in about something that would probably turn out to be a cat ( ... )

"Excuse me?" Ashe said firmly, folding her arms and looking up at Vergil with a look of distaste.

Ashe didn't usually attend to the street-shopping, and was probably only mingling since she was killing time after a meeting, and checking out some landmarks for the next mission that was slowly coming together (part of her half wished she'd payed more attention to her original plan for her birthday rather than taking the entire evening with Balthier's company - but she didn't regret that). She was flatly, though, annoyed at the kids that kept running into her legs, the strangers whacking her this way and that with the sack lodes of Christmas gifts they were carrying, and when she'd actually chosen to clear the way for someone, he'd walked into her anyway.

So now, Ashe was facing Vergil, with a look of disdain. "I would think an apology would not be too much of a request?"

“That doesn’t change the fact that you’re still in my way.” He retorted bluntly. Any chances of the demon (if there had ever been one) still being around were slim now and he knew that the whole thing had just been a waste of his time, but he was here now and there had to be something he could do to salvage the wasted trip.

"Do you have-" Ashe started on reflex, before she halted abruptly on her words. She couldn't say 'do you have any idea who I am?' here, concidering the fact she wasn't supposed to be here on the first place - and she was Amalia here, not Ashe. Instead, a single eyebrow raised. "I recall I cleared a path for you, yet, you still managed to achieve walking into me."

"Then you clearly failed to clear the way," he retorted coolly as he rested one hand on the hilt of his sword. Despite the number of people he had jostled and been jostled by, it hadn't dislodged the nodachi from beneath his coat. "You might as well make yourself useful. Have you seen or heard anything peculiar nearby?"

Ashe looked momentarily clueless as to what he was going on about, and her face looked concerned, yet she still refused to move. She almost near immediately noted his hand resting on something concealed with his trench coat - she guessed it to be a sword or some weapon (Ashe had her own, so it didn't bother her in that sense), but she filed the thought away. Instead, she replied, "Nothing out of the ordinary. Peace is peace, and the city seems to have achieved it for it's shopping sprees."

Just as I thought, this whole thing was just a hoax. We need to go back to the password system instead of answering every call that comes through. Vergil thought irritably. He had to wonder just what he was going to do now. Shopping was certainly not his forte and he had no intention of trawling the streets just to look like he was doing something. He would rather be at home where he could unplug that damn phone and possibly hound his brother just to wind him up, that was always fun. "In that case I wasted my time though this city has never achieved peace." He finally remarked

"So," Ashe started, her voice taking an accusing tone, "You shoved into me for a mere search for something trivial?"

"Yes. It was within my rights to do so since you were in the way, no matter how trivial it was." Vergil retorted "I don't know why you're letting yourself get so worked up about it. Unless you've been locked away for all your life, you should know that city-life often involves people pushing others out of their way."

Ashe looked far from impressed. "Unless you care not to notice, the hilt of whatever you have concealed is far from pleasent to knock into," she said accusingly. "You had plenty of space, as I've stated, yet you still barged into me. All I ask for is an apology - not too higher price, is it?" she concluded. There were far worse things she could do with her influence, but Ashe wasn't going to bring out those things for this.
