Patchouli wasn't so pleased with how this was going. At least, she didn't look very happy; but, was she ever happy? Patchouli was happiest when she was at home, reading, in the library, alone, bleeding alone. Alone, as in, with no-one else. However, since Lady Remilia Scarlet insisted... Patchouli decided that, since she would get to meet Ashe, who she'd spoken to over these "journals" a few times, and maybe it would be nice to talk to her? Of course, Remilia was really just using Patchouli as an instrument to get the guards to let her in. She was dressed in white and red, her dress rather short, wearing a red mask which barely left her eyes concealed, knowing that most anyone could recognise the lady Scarlet by the color of her eyes, but anyone could identify her by the presence of her batlike wings which protruded out of the back of her dress. Her dress was intended to, apparently, look sexy. That was something which Remilia often did at these social outings - flaunt her body, since she generally considered herself to be very pretty, and she thought many others thought her to be pretty, too. Okay, maybe a few did. Her hands were completely bare; she held Patchouli's left hand in her right.

Patchouli, though, was dressed very modestly, especially by comparison. She had even colored her hair a black color, for reasons she didn't wish to divulge. She wore a violet dress which was long enough that it very nearly touched the ground. It had no sleeves yet otherwise covered her body completely up to her neck. She finished this with a pair of violet evening gloves which extended all the way to her shoulders. Of course, she wore a mask, as well, a black, feathery mask. She walked side by side with Remilia, ready to just sneak in at a moment's notice.

She turned to the guard at the gates. "Ladies Remilia and Patchouli Scarlet. It's a pleasure to finally get a chance to meet someone else with power and class." Punctuated with a haughty laugh. Of course. It was completely obligatory.

Patchouli pulled a guard closer. "Ignore her," she whispered in his ear, "she's an idiot." She was fortunate that Remilia didn't hear a word of that. Remilia didn't even wait to hear if they were on the list yet and just ran in, dragging Patchouli behind. Patchouli was not happy, not at all.

Boredom came easily to those who had lived as long as he had and sooner or later entertainment became hard to come by no matter how creative and loose you got with the meaning of the word ‘entertainment’. It was the reason why he had found himself here amongst the upper class members of society who had gathered to attend the birthday party of another spoiled brat, or so he told himself.

Getting past the security had been a simple matter. Five minutes of spying to be exact as he watched a group of people who were clearly invitees gossiping together about what was wrong with the world. A few seconds and a change of appearance later and he was in. Disappearing into the crowd effortlessly he soon shape-shifted back to his preferred form, with the addition of a black leather mask concealing his face from the bridge of his nose to his forehead.

Staring around the room and taking in every detail he could, he failed to notice Patchouli until he had slammed into her. Regaining his balance quickly, the homunculus regarded her with a rather irritated expression. She was the first person who had made eye contact with him, so she was going to answer his questions. “So what is all this in aid of?” He drawled. Everyone here seemed to be talking to each other quite contently, but he really had to wonder if they even knew the reason why they were there. It was just like humans to be so utterly shallow.

Patchouli had managed to break free of Remilia's grip; she fell to the floor promptly, just after Envy had run into her. She stood up eventually, finding her balance again.

"I really don't care," she said, "but apparently it's someone's birthday, or something similar. This is a little bit excessive, if you ask me." She twitched a little.

"I don't really care whether I'm here or not. She just dragged me along." She pointed at Remilia.

Envy glanced around and found himself in agreement with her. The party was definately excessive, the person whose birthday it was didn't appear to be anywhere in sight although judging from the crowds and the level of security on the place it had to be someone who was considered (at least by the upperclass socialites) to be very important. That was what he thought at any rate. "We could make it more interesting~." He remarked.
