Early-Morning Earthbending [event]

The silence of the park was interrupted by the rumbling and grounding of earth as it was pulled effortlessly from the ground, up and up into thick walls and columns and back down again with almighty crashes before the sequence seemed to start all over again. At the centre of it all, dusty but happy-looking was Toph, the small twelve-year-old quite literally in her element as she practiced her earthbending, uprooting and moving and manipulating the ground beneath her to her will with swift punches and kicks.
It was early in the morning and still dark, but Toph didn't care either way; all she ever saw was darkness. This was the perfect time for training, as the dark provided a cover, and her parents would still be fast asleep and would never even realise she'd sneaked out by the time they woke up. And as for the upturned and damaged earth... well, whoever came across that would probably just blame it on a particularly destructive mole. It all worked out.
What she wasn't expecting was for anyone to be in the park at this hour, but she was proven wrong. Some distance away, she could sense the footsteps of someone approaching, heading directly towards her. She acted quickly, stomping on the earth once to smooth the surface over as best she could. Keeping her eyes fixed on the ground and her back turned to the stranger, she said irritably, "What do you want?"
